History:

 

El salto de cuerda, is a physical activity that dates back to 1600 BC, in this year the Egyptians used lianas to jump. For a long time, this has become a traditional game in Ecuador and has been maintained for generations, the children of today continue playing rope jumping.

 

How to play it: 

 

To play jump rope, you only need a rope that can be purchased or can even be made from recycled materials such as unused plastic bags. The length of the rope depends on whether you want to play individually or with more people, people playing must jump without tripping over the rope and the person who lasts the longest jumping, wins



La Cuchara y el Limón 

History


This game is a very old traditional game and there is no clear record of its origin, however it has been practiced for centuries in Ecuador.

This game is practiced in traditional festivals such as the Quito festivals, but it is also played very often in neighborhood and children's parties.


How to play it


To play the spoon and the lemon you need 2 essential materials: a spoon either plastic or metal and a lemon. 

The game consists of dividing the participants into several groups of minimum 2 players and maximum 8 players per team. In each team the participants will be divided into 2, one half will go in front of the other.

The participants will be placed in a straight line, the first participant will get a spoon with a lemon on it and place it in his mouth, at the moment that the judge of the starting signal the first players must take the spoon with the lemon to their next partner.

The use of hands to help oneself is not allowed. In case the lemon falls, the player must collect the lemon, place it on the spoon and continue playing from where the lemon fell.

The team that runs out of participants for bringing the spoon to the finish line wins.
